About the Site Name
Austin Blues was a club in Austin, Texas on East 6th Street (AKA the Entertainment District) that I really liked when I came to check out Austin in April, 1999. Great food, good prices, great jukebox full of classic post-war blues, and good local musicians playing nights. So we moved to Austin. There were other reasons, but Austin Blues, both the club and the music scene were part of them. Since we expected to arrive in Austin on Wednesday, we planned to attend their Wednesday night blues jam. Certainly no reason to sit in an empty apartment until the moving van arrived. The club had closed. Since then the location has gone through at least two, no three more incarnations.
I have adopted AustinBlues and a shortened form, ABluz, as usernames.
